I just watched our local Women's Network medical call-in show. They
spent 45 minutes on breastfeeding. The first guest was from INFACT
Canada and talked in detail about Canadian violations of the the WHO
code and what can be done. Then Jack Newman spoke about breastfeeding
and answered callers questions. Great job Dr. Jack. The calls covered
all the topics we have discussed lately - breast implants, baby nursing
too often, I don't think I have enough milk, how do I wean by 10 month
old. Jack was great. He answered their questions directly and slipped
in support for letting the 10 month nurse longer - maybe baby is saying
he still needs to nurse. He mentioned that sleeping through the night is
only considered a problem because we have made it one. I especially
admired his restraint when Liz Grogin, the host, mentioned Ferber's
great suggestions for solving your child's sleep problems. Thanks Jack
for making all us fanatics look good.
