I haveseen syntoconon work 2 or 3 times with remarkable
success...although I don't know if confidence offered by the spray, or
time, or what else could have made the change. One mother used cohosh at
a dose suggested by her midwife and got results.

What, however, must be asked is WHY is the mother having this problem.
Contrary to common belief, I believe that the MER has to be the most
reliable mechanism going...if all had to be perfect, well, OK, etc. to
have a good one, we would not have made it out of the caves! I think
pain, phychic pain, shock can result in impairment. (See Newton's early
work about conditions that imoait MER). The mother must come to grips
with her own experience...work through it. Syntocinon is an interesting
drug, and a quick fix. But it is something the mother gets from a hcp,
causes her to be dependent, and doubting her own womanly powers. It
causes the breastfeeding specialist to be dependent on another hcp,
tinkering with chemicals, and perhaps missing the root problem. IMHO.
these MER problems are a great challenge to the BF specialist as it
requires a lot of time, problem solving skills, and team work...like
with family, LLL, and those who suppot the mother. Anne
