Yes the web site is geared towards adoptive nursing/induced lactation
(and
relactation too!). I claim responsibility for starting this thread. My

question, which still stands, "Is Blistex a prudent/acceptable
recommendation." I don't feel that it is (considering how accessible
Lansinoh and related products are), but I am looking for professional LC

viewpoints before I write to site's owner.

Thanks again,

Marimar

Marimar,

I guess one could take either stance. On the site, blistex is
recommended for *before* the baby arrives. And there is a disclaimer at
the home page suggesting that moms consult a professional before
following the advice at this site. I think the author is pretty clear
that this is what worked for HER. But, I guess someone could happen into
the blistex page and think she was a professional making a
recommendation.

To be honest, I don't think there is a problem with blistex other than
the question of the baby ingesting it. (Does anyone else have any other
reservations?) If it is being used before baby arrives... I don't see
what the issue is. Moms have a right to make choices related to what
works for them. I think this mom is just saying "here's what worked for
me....."
