Dr. Jay is so correct. I would hate to be accused of slander or worse libel
by appearing to call someone in such an esteemed position as Dr. Phil an
idiotic moron who lacks the intelligence and dignity of a toad.

I do feel bad for you Kate, and I am sure you entered this with the best of
intentions, but rule number one in sensationalism t.v. is never trust the
producers, don't expect to be quoted properly, and remember, the host is the
star and the guests are just there to accentuate the fame. I once agreed to
do an interview for a health segment of a news station. I was so careful. I
had a friend who was a producer for a rival station who warned me to be
careful. Keep my comments in 10 second bites so they could not edit. Don't
let them keep you talking too long or they'll use it. Well, it's hard to
answer questions in 10 secs! And, sure enough, the 20 seconds that they used
was bits and pieces of a 2 hour interview! And, used as answers to totally
different questions!! So, I am once bitten twice shy and have a whole new
perspective on the media.

I have also have had letters I write into newspapers get an edit that makes
what I wrote unrecognizable and the opposite of what I said! Never trust the
news, don't believe what you read, and if you saw it on tv talk shows. .
.well, unless you call the guests yourself and find out what was said, assume
the worst.

The sad thing is when people here these things, they actually give them
merit. Which goes back to the wise words of Lisa Jones' father. . ."stupid
people are taking over the world".

Take care,
