I think you are on the right track with the Standards of Practice, the
Competencies, and the Code of Ethics.
You might add the Registry on the Board's web site. This provided
protection for the public should there be issues with how we practice. They
can check to be sure any individual really is Certified by formal
examination.
They can also present any issues (complaints) to the Board and they will
investigate. Responses can range from No Action (unsubstantiated claim) to
Revocation of Credential. These actions are published in the Globe. The
Board is concerned with maintaining credibility. This is why we add RLC
(Registered Lactation Consultant) after the IBCLC.
You might also present a copy of the LC Licensing Bill currently
circulating in the Texas Legislature.
