>I suggested fenugreek "is reported >to increase asthmatic symptoms in some
>individuals"

Hi,
Let me introduce myself since this the fist time I reply to you all, I am
Sandra Prenen and I live in Belgium. My Profession is physical therapist, I
am specialised in pelvic floor therapy and give birth classes. I got
involved in the breastfeeding issue because off personal interests, but it
goes beyond that now. I met with the lady's from the breastfeeding suport
group (it is called VBBB) and a few years ( and two baby's later) I am an
official staff-member.

Here my reply to Cynthya about fenugreek:
I hav asthma too and used that herb as a "milk suply stimulator" (I forgot
the right word in English); for what its worth, I never had problems with
getting more asthmatic.
Acording to my herb book an infusion off folowing herbs can also be used for
the same purpose:
- Borago officinales
- Dill seed
- aniseed
- fennel seed
In Belgium often dark beer is recomended, it's not scientific proven, but it
is somtimes enough to get a mother and child started.
If not exagerated, the alcohol in the beer can have the effect on the mother
of relaxation and therefor an easyer let down.
You know, it could be that the problem is not the milk suply, but that she
has a difficult let down and then of cours oxytocin can help.

Sandra Prenen, mother of Silke (3y) and Simon (10 mo).
