For those of you who are retail or rental stations or have had recent
experience with the pumps I mention below, I have a few questions for you.

1. Since the prices on the PNS 98 went up considerably at the beginning of
1998, have you noticed a decrease in the demand for this double breast
pump?

2. Has anyone other than me heard that moms are purchasing the Nurture III
due to the lower cost or getting the new double pump from Evenflo at their
neighborhood Walmart?

3. Is anyone other than me seeing more trouble with working moms who have
to pump maintaining their milk supplies with these pumps? I'm thinking
that it's because the other two pumps don't autocycle like the PNS does.

I'm also seeing the same trouble with the new Evenflo double pump that I've
seen for years-the suction takes to long to build up and then once it does
it either doesn't suck enough or mom's nipples turn painfully purple. I'm
not seeing it as much trouble with the Nurture II as I am the Evenflo
double pump (no surprise to me). My concern is that the cost of the PNS 98
is prohibitive for many moms who would have purchased the pump when the
prices were lower. Now they are buying lower quality pumps that aren't
meeting their needs and ultimately diminishing their milk supply. Has
anyone considered writing or already written to Medela about this?

Your thoughts???
