Hi, Margi: Actually your MIL is 100% correct! I don't think a mother can
get much lazier than this - sleeping topless at night with the baby in bed
with her! She needs to be prepared to scare herself silly at least once in
the early weeks, when her first thought upon awakening is that the baby is
dead! Why would she think this? Because she doesn't remember feeding the
baby during the night. Baby is happily sleeping next to her and her
breasts are way too soft to have gone all night without feeding. Baby
obviously helped herself during the night, while mom slept. This happened
to me on several occasions in the early weeks with all 3 of my babies.
