I have been working as a CA more that IBCLC.  I don't mind making a few calls and THEN HELP THE MOMS.  But to make calls all day never see a client , tell them at 2 days they can go to the WIC clinic or the hospital is not my bag.  I have never been very good as a tela-marketer and have alot of hands on training but no "doing it over the phone training or luck!"  Kathryn is doing the home visits, when she can.  We have 2 Districh RD's who can make home visits, they already have a 40 hr. job so they can also do it sometimes.  Other than that we are doing nothing to help moms who are bf and at home.  I have been so discouraged that I can't wait to retire in June.  We had such a good program befor Sharon Farrel and Janice our old Adminestrator.
 
We are trying to call all prenatals one time a mo.  I am calling these moms and making 20 calls with only 5 of them home to talk to such a waste.

I am curious as to why you had to stop having WIC PCs visit in the  hospital. 
Our has this program and as you said it is working very well. We also  have a 
requirement that the PC do a follow up call with the new mother within 3  
days. How have follow up calls been working?
