Nancy, what I wonder and observe is the physicians just assume that they will
see ear infections, URI, diarrhea, constipation, and colic (just to name a
few) as normal.
They will probably say that they observe these same complaints in breastfeed
children but will not do the chart reviews to actually note the big
differences in the groups regarding severity of the problems and their long
term outcomes.
It is also interesting the comment you made that they don't believe the
research but I hear from these same types of physicians that they love to
read when there is a problem with breastfeeding; such as mother taking
medications and the baby being exposed to this med through the breast milk.
How do we ever get this turned around?! To me it is amazing that we are the
only species that does not automatically want to give our newborns their
mother's milk and we are supposed to be the higher intelligence?!!!!!!
How do I (we) recover this headache from hitting my (our) head against the
wall?
