Just thought I'd add my .02 worth. Maybe the woman who runs this catalogue
lives somewhere like Lexington, KY. A reasonable sized city with three
fairly large hospitals where woman can birth their babies. Two of the
three hospitals have ONE LC (IBCLC) each. Some of the nurses have accepted
the education made available to them and have helped new moms. There are
just too many women giving birth for the LCs to be able to give them the
amount of time they need to get breastfeeding off to a good start. I don't
even want to get into how far, far away any of the hospitals here are from
being BFHI ('nuff said).

Anyway, many of the calls I get as a La Leche League Leader are related to
bad or no help given to these moms at the hospital. I do not claim to
know everything and I have been known to refer back to one of the available
LCs in town, but, many/most women live in areas where there is just not the
support for breastfeeding that there may be in where there are Lactnetters.

Remember, just my .02. And if any of you want to move here and help fight
the good fight I promise to make you some homemade biscotti!
