Hi Jane!

Have you attended one of Dr. Nils Bertman's day-long workshops? He has some very compelling things to say about 24 hour skin-to-skin and extremely premature babies and he shows how mom can sleep, eat, stand etc. He also shows how to carefully position small babies. His premise is that technology should be an add-on to the skin-to-skin care which he terms kangaroo mothercare for even ELBW babies.  It is much different than the basic skin-to-skin most of us are referring to. (And yes, I work at a hospital with a level III NICU and ELBW babies are routine).
