Hello,

I have mom's permission to post. First time mom, exactly one week postpartum vaginal delivery, woke up this morning with a weird taste in her mouth that is not going away at all. She describes it as if the smell of old fast-food fried chicken turned into a taste (ugh). It is hurting her appetite.

She has been and is currently taking Synthroid 112mcg/day, fish oil, probiotics and vitamin E daily. She has vomiting when she takes ibuprofen and itching when she takes morphine--no other sensitivities noted. She has an excellent milk supply and baby is almost back at birth weight.

We discussed that this could be a hormonal/oxytocin kind of hit, and she wanted me to put this out to you for some more possibilities. I have suggested non-peppermint hard candies in the meantime.

Thanks so much,
