I'm looking for a little info/opinions on the use of 'low dose ASA (81mg)' to
try to prevent PIH in a nursing and pregnant mom. Mom (me btw if that
matters - lol) is 19wks with a history of PIH in all three previous pregnancies
and trying to avoid/delay it in this one as long as possible.....my OB put me
on 81mg ASA (have yet to start - just bought it today and read the leaflet
which says not to use while pregnant (or at least the last trimester unless
advised by physician) or nursing - standard CYA statement I'd assume) but I
don't think he realised that I'm still nursing my 3y3m old (mostly at nights)
and my almost 7yo (once or twice a day) when he did.

I know that you aren't supposed to give a child ASA, and that ASA crosses
over into breastmilk, but what are the risks outside of a 'fever-producing
illness' (which is all I have been able to find info on so far)? And how big of
a risk is there really when the child is nursing so little (as opposed to a FT
Newborn) and on the low-dose (as opposed to regular/extra strength
doses)?

Do the benefits to mom out-weigh the risks to the child(ren) is I guess what
I'm looking for here....

Thanks for your time - Any and all input is appreciated. Thanx.
