As we start our journey, we have lots of questions and I am sure our Baby Friendly USA coordinator will get them all answered. But for those of you already Baby Friendly or ahead of us on our journey what is the rule about prenatal baby care classes, etc. I know the video our educators show has an entire section on formula feeding. Do our educators stop the video fast forward through the formula info, tell anyone to speak to them after class if they are not going to nurse their baby??

Obviously in my breastfeeding class I have never taught formula feeding but I have mentioned when detours in life happen during the breastfeeding journey....you may see us on a different path for a moment while working on getting your milk to the baby and learning breastfeeding. The educators are trying to get used to not discussing formula feeding in our discharge class at the hospital. Some parents have said it isn't fair they only discussed breastfeeding but I have told them to script "formula feeding requires one on one instruction and we will be happy to provide that for you."

Thank you for sharing your journeys!
