Just a happy note and thought I would share this tip with everyone. I have a
speech therapist at our local hospital, mostly works with adult stroke
victims, but because she breastfed her children, she is very willing to help
with difficult breastfdg situations I have. She has always, so far, seem my
clients for free and has been very helpful! Well last week I had been
working with a woman for about 4 weeks now, suck disorganized at first,
some mild suck training with moms finger fixed that:). Now apparent child
very much a "chomper" chewing and clenching very hard. Gave some more
exercises and instructions to exert gentle, firm, even pressure on chin
during feeds to encourage a wide mouth latch. This was extremely helpful for
about 3 days, then again painful. Speech therapist saw her for me and
suggested the following:
1: Continue everything I told her!
2: While baby feeds at breast mom is to pull slightly on babys cheek, just
enough to release pressure, but not break suction.
Mom reported immediate improvement. Was told to follow up with me in 2 days
if no better. I haven't heard from her in over a week! So it must be
working. Hopefully this will work for you all too!

Excited I actually was doing something right-I am so green still!
