Dear wise and problem-solving friends,

My daughter was planning to return to work when her son was 3 months (eventually she quit her job and stayed at home, but that's another story) and was trying to get him to drink from a bottle for daycare's  sake. he wouldn't, of course, because he's a bright little fellow and only wants the real deal. Anyway, she kept trying and noticed that the only thinf he really enjoyed sucking on (besides suckling the breast) was his little stuffed toy with a convenient teat-like part. This got her the idea to make the bottle teat feel more like skin os something stuffed. She finally got this idea working: clip on youtube: http://youtu.be/4tGR_HVHZxc
It is spoken in Dutch ofcourse, but it is not hard to understand from the pics only. She explains in the first minutes about the difference between a thin fabric (better vacuum, but less skin-like feeling) and thicker fabric (better feeling, less vacuum/more leaking). Ofcourse she mentiones washing prior to using stockings as teatcap and at the end states to only use once for hygiene.
No financial strings here, just motherly proud ;-)

Warmly,

Gonneke, IBCLC in PP, LC lecturer, grandma in southern Netherlands
