Jennifer, I think you were totally on track with your observations and the
evidence of continuing weight loss in this week old baby.  I would have had
that baby seen by a medical practitioner right away, as there could easily
have been something else wrong in addition to poor intake.  Seems like the
RN who saw the baby should have had the baby further evaluated by an MD and
a lactation consultant.  Somehow this oversight should be brought to her
attention so she doesn't continue to overlook the importance of such things
in the future and risk jeopardizing the health of other newborns.
