I'm hoping to get some ideas that are related to breastfeeding but not
limited to it. I'm following the model of integrating the arts or a
second language into subjects totally unrelated to language or arts, if
you see what I mean.

I've been asked to give a workshop on working with children 0-3. Some of
the people will have an ECE background, some will have experience with
upper-grade education and knowledgeable about cognitive development, and
some will be volunteers who love babies. The invitation came out of
several comments I had made to suggest people think outside of the
"mom's day out" program format. Some of you may have BTDT and know how
painful it is for both mother and child when they are securely attached
to be separated for even an hour.

I can find the information pieces (the literature on attachment) and I
plan to integrate breastfeeding into the whole thing. But this is more
like a rationale of why mother - baby togetherness is good for
breastfeeding and bonding. What I am looking for is ideas on how to
develop programming out of those interactions. I want to provide
exciting examples of mother-baby games and activities.

It seems to me that I am falling into the trap of thinking about
*either* breastfeeding/attachment *or* programming, and am not putting
it together. _Playful Learning_ is the only reference I've found that
has some of what I'm looking for. I want something more geared to
socio-affective development than cognitive, and I suspect I am coming
across a well-rooted problem in the ECE literature.
