I don't have the same opinion on this that others do. Our bodies are meant to detox all the time. That is the role of the liver, kidneys, skin, lymphatic and glymphatic systems. When we eat real food and support these systems, through exercise, sleep, etc that's what they do. So many folks have impaired detox pathways due to poor diets and lack of supportive practices. Detoxing while bfing isn't dangerous; it's normal, just as is detoxing at any other time. Detox pills? I find folks will usually use them when they don't want to change their eating habits...not a good solution. OTOH, simple herbal cleanses have been use historically to help folks cleanse between seasons, to eliminate parasites, etc. If you are eating well, this should not add significant stress, so long as you avoid herbs not suitable for breastfeeding.

Subject: Diet Cleanses while breastfeeding 19 month old

I know diet cleanses are not recommended while breastfeeding but would like some
opinions and maybe research about diet cleanses when baby is older.
I am looking at a normal caloric unrestricted intake with digestive
cleansing pills. All herbal and 19 month old is eating plenty of foods and
breastfeeding 6-8 short times per day. Once at night at well.
I have a theory that toxins will be greatly increased in short term but
greatly decreased in the long term.
Do you wise ladies have experience with this?
