I'm looking for help on this one. I received a phone call from a public
health nurse in a smaller community near here today.

Baby is 2 1/2 months old. Has been breastfeeding fine until last 3 weeks,
when baby began to reject the breast. During strikes, baby will take
breastmilk from a bottle. Doctor states baby has "a small amount of yeast
at the back of the mouth."
Public health nurse is investigating the following possibilities:
?any other thrush symptoms mom or babe
        ? hyperactive letdown reflex
? mom using soother - if so, is she boiling it daily?
        ? type of bottle nipple
? mom's diet containing something different on days of nursing strike
        ? positioning changes

Does anyone have any other suggestions or ideas? My gut instinct tells me
this could easily be a case of thrush which is alternately proliferating and
abating. When the thrush is at a low level, the baby feeds well, but then
refuses the breast when it is more apparent. But maybe I'm totally aiming
in the wrong direction. Any suggestions anyone?

TIA!
