i believe the big hoo-ha about the huffington senatorial bid was that it was
perceived to be a blatant attempt to buy the seat. i don't recall too many
details, but i do remember the new yorker magazine had something about it and
them. other than lactnet, that's where i get a lot of news, along with npr.

this looks like a trend, women involved in politics sequeing into the writing
of anti-lactation columns.hm.
