Hello All:
I have a client who delivered 32 week twins 5 days ago. She is pumping, has
excellent milk supply, and her neonatologist is recommending that they
fortify her milk. She wants to consider this carefully, and needs info on
pros and cons. I told her this is pretty much standard practice here in the
US, though I know in other nations (i.e., Sweden) that the mother's own milk
is not always fortified. Does anyone have references that will clarify? My
lactation texts give the impression that fortifiers are a necessary part of
care for prematures.
Thanks in Advance From :
