Lactpals, with mum's permission I ask the following:
Baby 14 weeks old, exclusively bfg. Mum ate cashew nuts at Friday
lunchtime. On Sunday evening baby had a rashy forehead. Subsided but came
back in full blown rash from her neck to toes, baby under the weather. Mum
felt it looked an allergic reaction of some kind and took babe to GP. GP
diagnosed allergic reaction to unknown allergen and prescribed low dose
steriod cream. One application was used and baby responded. Mum, Dad and
sibling exhibit different allergic problems, eg. Hayfever, eczema. I asked
her if baby had a sore or swollen mouth with the rash but she said no, baby
fed as normal. Mum racked her brain to think what she might have eaten that
could have caused this and came up with the cashews but also wondered if the
delay in symptoms would rule them out. What do you think?
