Lisa and others!
I have found that most of my moms experience some sort of supply problem if
they are hypothryoid. Now mind you the ones who never call me I don't
know...so my sample is of those with supply problems...how many are
hypothyroid....NOT how many of my hypothy patients have supply issues!

I find that there is usually a confounding factor. IE: poor latch, starting
solids, etc. Unless they have profound, usually new hypo...supply is great
until you throw in another hitch.

Many times, when reviewing hx I ask if they are on meds. If yes...have they
been tested lately. I remind them, that many times a lactating mom needs to
be on high side of normal to have a great supply. So if they have been
tested and are"normal" where is that in the range. Many doc's after I talk
to them are willing to "bump up" their daily doses while lactating to bring
them to a higher normal level.

These are of course with the other usual methods to increase supply.

My humble opinion of course!
