Hi All,
Just a couple of quick notes...

First, Patrick and I are doing great! He is getting bigger every day and
thank goodness is a mellow baby! The BF is going very well. Third time is a
charm, right? No probs at all!
Have a question for you though, one I have been asked by other moms as well;

When you are BF the new baby a lot (like one should be doing anyway) is it
normal for the breasts to get to a stage where they are not getting
uncomfortably full between feeds (even when the baby sleeps for 3 hours
stretches at night and nurses about every 2 hrs or less during day), but you
know there is plenty of milk there, within the first 2 weeks? Is this common
with multip BF moms and primip BF moms who BF frequently during the early
days so that they avoid the painful engorgement (they get tender but not that
rock hard or lots of swelling type of engorgement), but bring in a healthy
milk supply?
I know that moms who do not BF frequently in the early days (days 1-5) suffer
the nasty engorgement, and can have problems with milk supply (or the lack
thereof) as a result of the severe engorgement.
I know this is pretty scattered in thought, but do you get the gist of my
question? I am going through this right now, great milk supply, baby totally
happy (and a piglet at that! Loves the breast even when he is stuffed!) and
growing well, but breasts are not getting uncomfortably full between feeds.
Not that I mind, but is it normal? Remember, I have never had a "normal" BF
experience. My first two kids gave me problems of one sort or another (one
much more severe than the other) so this is the first time I am BF a baby who
really knows what he is doing! (Thank goodness!)

Please send answers or thoughts to Lactnet and to me privately as I am on
no-mail currently. (don't ask how I found the time to write this!) Oh, and
I have a new e-mail address. AOL is too much of a hassle to deal with so we
have switched. The new e-mail is :

(I love my new address!)

Thanks all!

Boy I sure miss Lactnet. I may have to get back on and just read as I can,
even if I get behind!

Take care!
Jay

PS Would anyone like to help me put a picture of Patrick on a Web page? I
don't have a web page or a scanner, but would love to show you our
Lactnet-Cyber-Baby. I feel like he is yours too, because of all your support
and good wishes during my pregnancy and after! Let me know! TIA!
