These are breasts with severe insufficient glandular tissue. She was taking
fenugreek all ready, but not really pumping except occasionally with a Avent
manual pump. She was breastfeeding and gave some abm a few times. The
pediatrician told her to give apple juice because he wasn't pooping! Baby
was in really bad shape when I saw him. Living on only about 3/4 an oz per
feeding and occasional sips of apple juice. He was still very jaundice at 3
weeks of age and less than birth weight. She is now supplementing with abm
by feeding tube and sometimes by bottle using Diane's Wiessinger's handout.
Once she started pumping with a electric double pump her milk hasn't really
increased, however nipple and areola has increased in size. She is now
taking the goat's rue for the last week with only an increase from 3/4 oz
per pumping to *sometimes* 1oz per pumping. She is looking into getting
Domperidone now.
She is nursing 8 or more times and day along with pumping.
Is there anything else she can do?
