We successfully removed the bags last year. Risk management got involved and
decided it was too risky to give the powdered formula out. The parents have
not complained, as we replaced the formula bags with a nice backpack with
the hospital logo, and also give them a hand breast pump if they would like one.

However, the pediatricians have been approached now by the formula companies
and they get the bag at the pediatrician's office. 

The good thing is, they don't have the formula on their first night home,
when it is most likely they will use it.
