Peppermint is used in lots of lip balms to ease sore, chapped lips.
Some like the cooling effect. I'm not one of them. Just a personal preference.
It's mother's intake of products made with peppermint oil that is a possible concern for milk supply.

I attended a webinar about nipple pain, presented last fall by Marsha Walker. One of the suggestions for easing nipple pain was to use peppermint. Does anyone know what peppermint products are available that can help with pain? A gel was mentioned in the webinar but I don't know how to acquire peppermint gel.

I have used Dr. Bronner's Peppermint bar soap and have noted that one does not want to get this soap near mucous membranes! Some discomfort was involved. With this experience in mind, I wouldn't want to recommend a product and find out that it stings.
