Jane Ciaramella asks for evidence to use in arguing for a change in her
workplace's procedure which advises against BF if mother has a fever.

Why is it you, Jane, that has to find evidence? What on earth are the
others claiming as evidence to support this policy? Esp. in the case of
chorioamnionitis, do they really think they are protecting the baby from
contagion? Where do they think the baby CAME from, anyway?

What would happen if a febrile mother insisted on breastfeeding her baby? I
mean, what would the hospital procedure require as text on the disclaimer of
responsibility form such a mother might be asked to sign?

According to the Breastfeeding Answer Book, a mother with LEPROSY or MALARIA
or a whole slew of other infectious diseases can breastfeed. Why can a
mother with a post partum fever not breastfeed?
