Hi People,
I am currently nomail, so if you would email me directly, I'd appreciate
it.

I man on an email discussion list I am on has posted that he is feeding
his 6mo baby (who has been abandoned by his mother) on exclusively raw
plant-based foods - primarily coconut milk, fruits, vegetables and
beansprouts. My initial reaction was one of utter horror, but he claims
that this diet has all the essential nutrients and is particularly good
because "the proteins in plants are in the form of amino acids and so
are easier to digest" and also claims that cooking destroys protein.

I've studied biochemistry (a while ago now) and I know this is rubbish,
but I am out of date and rusty. Could people on this list please share
with me their feelings on this? My gut instincts are that this baby is
in grave physical danger.
