What I tell ladies about LLL ? Something like "it is an organization that
behaves a little bit like the catholic church (now, remember that we used
to be "the priest ridden province" a few decades ago... my comparison
does ring a bell here, and is NOT intended to offense anyone): there is
the structure and litterature that is worldwide and has to relate to
different cultures, and then, there are the people in the group: all
parents like us who try their best to be parents and to breastfeed in our
cultural setting". And then, I tell the ladies that after three kids
and many patients, I have come to believe that LLL's tricks work the best
for breastfeeding and mother's survival. I think that I have explained
and tamed many prejudices against LLL.
