In my last job at a hospital with 9000+ we had 3, 32 hr RN/LCs, 2, 24hr
RN/LCs and 2 (1FT, 1 PT) CLCs that handled pump aquisition for mainly NICU Moms and
some minor breastfeeding support.

you also write;
Not enough nurses, especially at night when there are the most problems
( 4 nurses on 50 dyads).
What are they doing at night? Giving bottles to babies of moms who are
not breastfeeding!! Instead of being out in the rooms helping moms who
need their help, they are giving bottles to allow moms to sleep.  Do any
of you see the problem in this?? Nonbreastfeeding moms should be
required to care for their babies just as breastfeeding moms are. <<

I can't imagine how with 12+pairs assigned to each nurse that they have any
time to give baby care! Where are the sicker Moms? At a hospital with that many
deliveries your assignment is bound to be made up of at least a few with PIH,
postpartum hemmorhage, infection etc that require LOTS of nursing care.
