Dear Ann and Lactnetters,
Catching up on recent posts on the US holiday weekend. I wear labcoats
(short or long, whichever are clean and starched). I like the professionality
(a word?) it denotes, keeps yellow stools and spit-up off clothes and has my
name and IBCLC embroidered for identification.

I also like the pockets for pens, small supplies, business cards. One
caution: years ago cystic fibrosis patients at a large hospital were colonizing
for a DNA-specific pseudomonas cepacia. They tracked down the cross
contamination to ampules of albuterol kept in the pockets of nurses! Food for thought
when carrying things in your pockets!

I keep a separate clean one hanging in my car in case I am "called out"
and can throw over a casual outfit when needed.
