Re-visiting an old thread. I chanced to find my very own Nipplette the other night and showed it to trainee breastfeeding counsellors.
We experimented with using it to see how it felt, what it did and if it was easy to use. I didn't find it very easy, and I didn't try to attach
it to my nipple - but I did attach it to my upper chest. It certainly raised the area where I applied it. But I thought Lactnetters would be
interested to know the results (no I have not developed a supernumeray nipple!!!). I removed it in under 60 seconds, and a circular
mark remained visible for the rest of the night. Now over 36 hours later a mark is still clearly visible. Looks to me like broken
capillaries. Question for the medics - is there any risk attached to breaking capillaries? What might the consequences be of regularly
doing this to nipples?
