I am a BSN student, and recently in a nursing process class we were
discussing nutrition from birth to death, etc.  First of all the only
mention made of the difference between bf and bottle feeding was the
antibodies passed along to the baby.  The instructor then went on to say
that technology today has allowed mothers to continue bfing when
returning to work by pumping.  From the back of the class a student
commented "that's sick" (pumping).  I was flabergasted by this response,
but failed to investigate why such a comment was made.  And the
instructor failed to correct such an unnecessary comment.  Instead she
said "Well it may be sick, but the babes like it!"  I now have no respect
for this instructor.  How dare she allow biases from others and herself
concerning bfing and pumping come across in a lecture to young,
impressionable soon-to-be RN's!  I was so hot I missed (psychologically)
most of the following lecture.  HELP.  I want to write to this instructor
and tell her how offended I am, but I need to do it in a very
professional manner and I need references to back me up.  Please respond
