I don't think changing to bottlefeeding would help from the sound of it,
baby seems averse to any feeding in general. Perhaps some sensory
integration therapy or other such therapies would help (don't know alot
about this but has been discussed, in archives) the baby. What about cup
feeding with a sippy cup if baby is able (realize baby is 6 mos but was born
a prem). Even adding some oils or other caloric supp to the feeds taken by
bottle or supply line to add calories. Also hi-cal solids if baby is
developmentally ready, altho baby may not accept certain textures (again,
sensory issues). Could mom try rebirthing baths, do they cosleep?
Not too sure about the mom and insomnia. Does she have thyroid disease?
Could she hire a doula or someone to care for the domestic duties and let
her rest more and cuddle with the kiddies. This *may* be more beneficial
than paying for meds or other psych treatments (not sure, just suggesting).
I've never really suggested this: but some on the list really like the
rescue remedies, or other calming homeopathic therapies (I'm really ignorant
of these therapies, trying to expand my mind though) for mother and baby.
That's all I can think of for now.
