I'm astonished not surprised but astonished. I'm not an IBCLC, I'm an LLLL.
It sounds from the discussion that an IBCLC could not tell a mother who has
been wrongly told by an MD that both mother and baby DON'T need simultaneous
treatment for thrush, that they both DO need treatment to prevent
reinfection etc, as they would be contradicting the MD, while I, an LLLL,
can give a mother that information and equip her with information about the
treatment of thrush, to take with her to her HCP, including the duration of
treatment for thrush and how it differs say from the standard over the
counter 3 day treatment for vaginal yeast infection.
