Diane Wiessinger has taken a short vacation to Paris, but before she
left, she tried to incite me to some research "mischief". I told her my
"plate is too full" to get into this "mischief", but that I certainly
hoped some other Lactnuts would meet the challenge:

<Keep it up! That we are lacking in such nitty gritty info is
shameful...
especially when some of it is so easy to come by. Where are the LCs with
babies who could be experimenting on this???

Here's a thought: come up with a protocol for lactnetters to follow that
wouldn't involve lots and lots of pumping (and thus bottle-feeding of
their
milk). Something like: List your approximate bra size, and approximate
length from, say, point of collarbone to point of nipple. Pump one side
thoroughly, let stand, measure cream/skim heights. The next day, nurse
completely on one side, immediately pump other side, let stand, measure
cream/skim heights. The next day, begin the two-day observation again
but
with sides reversed. Do at approximately the same time all four days,
but
make sure that you do it at a set time from previous nursing. (Eg aim
for
midmorning, but if he last nursed at 9:00 the first day and you pump at
10,
do each one 1 hour after the previous nursing on each subsequent day.
Something like that. You could get some really good data really fast.
Oh,
do it!! And it's so simple, and there are so many of us who'd be able to
help!>

Any takers?

Jean
