It has been noted that:

> "CERPs will not be given for any presentation given by a speaker who has a

I don't know where this quote came from, but I do not believe it is the
current policy of the IBLCE. Barbara -- JoAnne -- someone mayhap could weigh
in here? I do believe that was true at one point, but it has been rescinded
-- as I recall, the people who were speaking on breastfeeding issues, but
were also associated with industry didn't really care whether or not CERPs
were awarded, so the people that suffered from not awarding CERPs to those
presenters were you and me.

For example, if LEC put on a breastfeeding conference with no sponsorship
from the formula industry (which we do), and then invited Ms. Sellout (who
has worked hand in glove with Yukkystuff) to speak a couple of times,
according to the above quote, we could not award CERPs for her presentations.
That doesn't hurt Ms. Sellout in the slightest -- she cheerfully speaks at
Yukkystuff sponsored conferences all the time and gets paid megabucks more
than LEC can afford. But it DOES hurt those who attend. So, you say, why
invite Ms. Sellout to speak? Well, it just so happens that Ms. Sellout is
the absolute best presenter on this particular topic that we know, and we
would like our attendees to hear her.

And that is the long and the short of why I think IBLCE rescinded that
particular ruling a while back. But I could be wrong.....someone else?
