I had my own little commentary to Mr. Schram. No pun intended, but what a
boob!

Mr. Schram,

I feel truly sorry for your narrow minded view point. As a supposed
educated man, I would think that you would want for a child to have the
very best beginning in life. That he/she would have a food that builds
strong bones, a strong cardio-vascular system, strong brain cells, etc...
Instead, because you have become used to media and entertainment's
depiction of the breast as sexual, you've abandonned all common sense to
think that breasts were specifically designed for what you think is so
deplorable-- feeding a child!

Breasts have been around much longer than media and entertainment, Mr.
Schram. They were around when Mary suckled Jesus- probably in Public. They
were around when Moses' mother Yachebed wet nursed him- probably in public
at times, as well. Sure, they may be a husband's or lover's play toy in
times of sexual interludes, but their main purpose was and still is to
make a child healthy and nourished. What I find more deplorable is that
mothers around the country are supporting the notion that the breasts are
a sexual item by buying their high school graduating daughters fake
breasts as graduation gifts (the #1 graduation gift for young girls today)
which could ,ultimately, make it more difficult for those same girls to
breastfeed when they have children of their own.

Mr. Schram, I am sure that you eat when and where you want. You may dine
at a restaurant while out with friends or loved ones. You may have a
Powerbar as you're on assignment and have a grumble in your tummy but
can't stop to sup. Why in the world, then, should a child wait until
he/she is in the privacy of his own home to feed? Or better yet, should a
nursing mother be confined to her home because her baby won't accept a
bottle or she doesn't want to give her baby a bottle? What cave did you
step out of?

Take a seminar on health, reproduction, and breastfeeding, Mr. Schram. We
women have worked hard to reclaim our rights. Things have changed since
Ozzie and Harriet, and you'll be receiving a lot more hate mail if you
don't change your caveman point of view to an educated commentary.
