Susan,

My second son was 19 lbs. at 4 months (and he started out 2 lbs smaller than
the baby you are working with) and not particularly long though.  People
used to call him the Michelin tire man or say he looked like a balloon
animal because of all the rolls on his arms and legs.  I also heard "He
should be carrying you" and "Boy, you must have rich milk" as it was one of
those big baby/small mom situations.  The rapid gain slowed after 6 months
and by age 3 he was actually on the thin side. He is now twelve and farily
average weight, although shorter than average, and very muscular.  It's
interesting to see the variety of body shapes and sizes these babies grow
into.  Hope that helps.
