Dear Denise and all,
     I suspect the mom wanted to give the supplement, maybe had already
done so, and the  LC may have "met her where she is" as far as her
desires with feeding her baby.  Most LCs would recommend breastfeeding
the baby lots, let the baby have "3" sides, nap while baby naps, lots of
skin to skin contact, etc.
