Laurie-

This is EXACTLY the language I received about 5 years ago at my
daughter's 4 month checkup at the peds office. It's the same language as
was in the E------ flyer about what I should expect for the next 2-5
months in the development of my infant. I wonder if Eckerd is in bed
with Enfamil (OOOPS! ;-)).

I have had some success with my local pharmacy in getting the pamphlets
which accompany most medications changed. Virtually all of the
pamphlets, regardless of the drug, state that lactating mothers should
not take X drug. I have looked up some of the drugs my hubby brings home
for his various ailments and found that lo & behold, most are approved
for breastfeeding mothers by the AAP although the pamphlet says they
should not be taken while lactating. I photocopy Hale and take it, along
with the pharmacy pamphlet, back to the pharmacist. The first time I did
it, she did this big, "I'm just a small cog in a great big machine"
routine. She did, however, pass it up the line and now that language is
gone. My understanding is that the language has to be changed at the
corporate office. It's cool when one little thing I do can make the
monolith change a smidge.

So, Laurie, what I'm saying is perhaps a nice little note to Eckerd
would cause them to reconsider their source material, esp. if you could
provide them with alternate language. Providing a workable solution is
always nice.

Good luck,
