How soon is Mom expecting?  Toddler reacting to pemding birth and talk of it?
 How about letting him help prepare food?  Foods he can eat "on the go",
sandwiches cut in cookie cutter shapes, veggies, fruit, etc.  Perhaps he
feels the "pushing away" of mom and needs to re-bond and know he's still
important.  La Leche has several cookbooks for meals for toddlers that might
give mom ideas.
