It does seem counter-intuitive that older, bigger babies don't continue to 
need more and more cc's of milk. But I believe the research and find 30 oz 
per 24 hr to be a reasonable approximate upper limit. I do agree with the 
posters who have written that babies who have fallen behind often need some 
extra volume for a time for catch-up growth.

I would love to have you post the creative high-density foods for the slow 
growing infant, Dr. Jen, if you can. That would be a great item to have in 
our archives. Great work with this child and see what can happen when you 
put some great minds together?
