Hi!
Back again. I know colostrum and breastmilk can be all colors, but this
particular mom is 2 days post cesarean section. For several years she has
cysts drained in both breasts as well as a breast biopsy both breasts. The
drainage from the cysts is tea colored. With last baby had mastitis in
both breasts and "insufficient milk supply" (supplemented with formula).
Pumped for 6-8 weeks. Noted green drainage on bra pad, so pumped dark green
colostrum/transitional milk. I stated to mom that she can continue to
breastfeed.
Question: Could these cysts put pressure on the collecting system and
cause stasis with resulting mastitis? Is it usual to have the green
colostrum/transitional milk come from only one breast?
