Unfortunately there are also misguided organisations starting to collect
new goods from people in the community for "gift" packs, including
formula and bottles, despite the fact that charities on the ground have
clearly and repeatedly said that money is the only appropriate donation
right now. Even aside from the issues with scattershot formula and
bottle distribution, it makes particularly little sense in the
Australian context to spend twenty bucks on new goods that may be
useless and then ship them all the way from South Australia or Western
Australia to Queensland, instead of donating the cash directly.
