An LC and MW I have worked with suggests for imbalance issues to nurse on the fuller breast first, just enough to relieve fullness then switching baby to the softer side and allowing baby to nurse on the softer side for as long as she wants to.

This also worked for me personally, as with both my children I looked like a Picasso painting o (O)

This does work beautifully in about 3 days and also if milk supply is not the issue and just the physical/appearance balance. ( or rather, as long as baby is getting enough milk from the smaller side, and the imbalance is just in appearance)

This pattern of feeding can continue through out the nursing relationship and can later be adjusted to offering the one with the larger tendency first, and nursing on the smaller one longer whenever a physical imbalance starts to creep up again.

Hope this helps you out, it has worked very nicely for the ladies ( including me) that have 'balance' issues
