I am by no means an expert on this, but it is my understanding that the
marketing of baby foods is also covered by the WHO Code. Baby foods
introduced before six months are considered to be a breastmilk subsitute,
since babies younger than six months should be receiving breastmilk
exclusively. The packaging (and I will confess I haven't looked at any
Gerber packages recently) often has illustrations of babies who are clearly
younger than six months, and the instructions for use often are misleading
as well and tend to suggest the baby should start earlier than six months.

So even if Gerber is not marketing formula, its marketing of baby foods may
be in conflict with the WHO Code.
